Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) remains one of the most serious human rights challenges in Somalia, particularly affecting women, girls, and other vulnerable groups. In Jowhar Town, cases of SGBV are often underreported due to stigma, fear of retaliation, lack of awareness, and weak referral and reporting mechanisms. These challenges hinder access to justice and essential support services for survivors

To address these gaps, this workshop on “Enhancing and Monitoring Reporting for Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in Jowhar” aims to strengthen the capacity of community leaders, health workers, women’s groups, and law enforcement representatives to identify, document, and report SGBV incidents effectively.
The training will emphasize the importance of survivor-centered approaches, confidentiality, and coordination among service providers. Participants will also learn how to use standardized tools for reporting and monitoring, ensuring that accurate data informs response efforts and advocacy
